- Dimicron Prime is an Autobot Town Commander from the Cybertron Satellite promotion.
The protector of Japanese children since time immemorial, the legendary Dimicron Prime (ダイミクロンプライム Daimikuron Puraimu) awakens from his ancient slumber whenever he senses Japan is in crisis. It is said that a portion of his spark resides within every Transformer. His weapon of choice is the Katsushika Blaster P38.
Notes
- Dimicron Prime was conceived as part of the "Cybertron Satellite" promotion wherein select towns and neighborhoods had their own "mascots". Unlike the other characters in the promotion, rather than be assigned to a specific region of the country, Dimicron Prime appears instead at TakaraTomy booths at conventions, and made his debut appearance at World Hobby Fair Summer 2012.
- Where the designs of the other Cybertron Satellite Primes are influenced by famous features of their regions, Dimicron Prime represents Takara itself, combining several of its most famous toylines in one: Transformers, Diaclone, and Microman.
- His name is a portmanteau of Diaclone (ダイアクロン) and Microman (ミクロマン).
- His overall body is based on the 2010 Transformers Legends Class Optimus Prime mold.
- His head and color scheme are that of Diaclone Robot Base (the Diaclone mascot and pre-The One, kinda sorta).
- His blaster is patterned after a gold Micro Change Gun Robo P38 U.N.C.L.E. (pre-Megatron).
- His shoulder bears the image of the classic (extremely racist) Takara mascot, Dakko-Chan.
- Should probably have skipped that last one, guys.
- In addition to the pre-Megatron thing, the Katsushika Blaster P38's name is derived from Katsushika, the ward of Tokyo where TakaraTomy has their headquarters.
- Appropriately for a character representing Takara itself, Dimicron Prime has 10s in all his tech specs, an honor usually reserved for Autobot and Deception supreme commanders.
- That bit about Dimicron "residing within every Transformer" is of course just a cute nod to the Transformers brand's real-world lineage with the company and not to be taken too literally. That said, there's certainly nothing stopping you from combining it with existing lore if you're so inclined...
