:There really isn't much you can ''say'' about any one euphemism, beyond giving the originating quote. Sure, you can vamp for a while about how "a boron compressor compresses boron" and "this word has an obvious figurative meaning obvious to any fleshling, namely the place where you sit" . . . but that stuff is trite. | :There really isn't much you can ''say'' about any one euphemism, beyond giving the originating quote. ::This whole place is a towering monument to triteness. :) Still, fair enough. Now I have a more legitimate concern. I don't think "euphemism" is the right word here. A euphemism is a "good way" of saying something considered impolite or vulgar. To say "rear end" for "ass" is a euphemism. What we are talking about here is more like "Transformer scatology" or "Anatomic vulgarisms" than euphemisms. I certainly can't see Rattrap using a euphemism when a vulgarism was available! --[[User:Autobus Prime|Autobus Prime]] 17:01, 5 February 2008 (UTC) | ::This whole place is a towering monument to triteness. :) Still, fair enough. I can dig up references for cartoon stuff pretty easily. For now, I'll toss my findings up here, and they can be integrated into the main article later. --Monzo 04:30, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Monzo! I think we can probably limit ourselves to the three funniest quotes per euphemism, so don't go too overboard. JW 16:21, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Separate pages
Aw, I miss the separate pages. What happened? --Autobus Prime 19:48, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- There really isn't much you can say about any one euphemism, beyond giving the originating quote. Sure, you can vamp for a while about how "a boron compressor compresses boron" and "this word has an obvious figurative meaning obvious to any fleshling, namely the place where you sit" . . . but that stuff is trite.
- Also, since we put them on one page, we've discovered a lot more of them, and it's easier to add them to the wiki now. JW 19:52, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
