A Zaffuru (ザッフル) is a defensive gun emplacement used by the Decepticon forces.

[edit]Transformers: Mystery of Convoy
[edit]- Stages: 2, 3, 6
- Point value: 500
Installed on the floors of Decepticon-held areas, Zaffuru automatically fire short-range blasts roughly every second, keeping Autobots away from them... unfortunately, their blast range is considerably shorter than the Autobots'. Their smaller size can make them tricky to hit with robot-mode weaponry, so leaping up from lower platforms between shots and peppering them with firepower before dropping back to safety is typically the best way to deal with them.
In later installations, Zaffuru are replaced with Tairasu, but the differences between the two seem to be merely cosmetic. Transformers: Mystery of Convoy
Notes
[edit]- "Zaffuru" may alternatively be transliterated as "Zaffle".
- In one of a billion little foul-ups in this game, the Zaffuru's shots don't actually come from the bits that looks like a cannon barrel. The shots appear to come from the joint between the top bit and the support pillar. Also, the sprite does not flip when they change firing position, the shot just comes out the back end now. Quality!
