The name or term "Dead End" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Dead End (disambiguation).
Dead End is a Decepticon from the Animated continuity family (via Timelines).
I run around in sandals, I never, ever shave.
And that's the way I wanna be when someone digs my grave.

Dead End has facial hair that is fabulous. The other Stunticons are probably jealous. Their attentions would be wasted on Dead End, because he's too busy being a depressing beat poet.[1]

Fiction

Animated

Voice actor: David Kaye (English)
"Nowhere to hide, from my poetry. Ahem..."

Dead End was sent, along with the other Stunticons and Toxitron, on a mission to break Megatron and other Decepticons out of Trypticon Prison. In the guise of entertainers, they planned to rig the former Decepticon Gladiatorial Arena in Kaon with explosives, blasting the prison walls open and killing the audience in the process.

All was going well until the Stunticons were abruptly assaulted in mid-rehearsal by Cheetor, who opened fire on the disguised Decepticons. Once the Autobot cop settled down, the rehearsal continued.

On the night of the plan's execution, Sideswipe and Cheetor returned in the middle of the show, having worked out the Stunticons' plan. The Stunticons fought back, with Dead End and Drag Strip cornering Cheetor. But when Toxitron turned out to actually be a disguised Optimus Prime, their plan was exposed to everyone watching. Dead End was incarcerated in Trypticon Prison, alongside the very Decepticons he and his teammates had sought to free. The Stunti-Con Job

If anything, these colours might make him more depressed.

At some point, Dead End [REDACTED BY THE OFFICE OF SENTINEL MAGNUS] forestonite, leaving him with a garish color scheme. The Complete AllSpark Almanac

  • Accessories: 2 tailpipe/"mini-bazookas"
Animated Dead End is a redeco of Deluxe Class Jazz, transforming into a street racer very dimly resembling a tricked-out Porsche. His side-pipes detach to form a pair of "mini-bazookas" (or nunchaku, as they were originally intended).
He was only available as part of the BotCon 2011 box set, which also includes The Motor Master, Wildrider, Drag Strip, and Breakdown.
This mold was later retooled into Animated Jackpot.

Notes

  • Dead End was the first toy to be revealed for the BotCon 2011 set, on January 27, 2011. The toy was put up on the convention website, followed shortly by his character model on BotCon's Twitter feed.
  • Dead End being a Jazz redeco may have its roots in the Generation 1 episode "Masquerade", wherein Jazz was disguised as Dead End with camouflage paint. Of course, this isn't the first Dead End redeco of a Jazz.
  • One of the early ideas for Dead End's deco was to paint his face up to resemble a skull.[2]
