Beginning in 2023, Transformers Retro is another in a long line of reissue series trying to get toys from the original The Transformers toyline into the hands of kids and collectors... but with a spicy little twist: these original toy molds are presented in colours accurate to their animated appearances, some for the first time ever!
Transformers Retro toys are exclusive to Walmart and Hasbro Pulse in the United States.
Toys
Unlike other "G1" reissue lines, toys in Retro make use of paint and tampographs instead of customer-applied stickers. The packaging design makes no reference to "Retro," with that naming only found on Walmart product websites. Most of them were branded as part of a The Transformers: The Movie toyline, until later releases adopted more traditional G1-styled packaging.
