Back in 1959, Hathaway learned that the ERTD had dig up three alien robots in Las Vegas, and shared the news with Quint. Doctor Grant then ordered the two to open a gate for an impending test run of the robots. Blast from the Past!

When the ERDT was shut down in 2003, Hathaway and Quint lost their jobs, and Quint decided to get some money out of it by selling the alien robots to the highest bidder. Hathaway was taken along for the ride, but repeatedly told Quint that there was no way they'd get away with it. The two were shocked when one robot suddenly went nuts and blew up their truck, and even more so when a starship suddenly arrived and liberated their products. Presumably, Hathaway was then captured by the authorities alongside Quint. Sale of the Century!
