DNAVI (BW)

DNAVI is a Predacon computer AI from the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

DNAVI (short for Devil NAVI), the self appointed Predacon princess, is arrogant, sassy, and generally frustrating—there's just no two ways about it. She always talks down to her teammates, hassling them over their losses and acting as if, if she was in their shoes, she'd be performing leagues better. The issue with this conceited artificial intelligence is that she's absolutely necessary to keeping the Predacon operation running. Without her, the Dinosaur couldn't run, Angolmois Capsules couldn't be found, and Magmatron and his troops wouldn't be able to be teleported away from danger. So, although she's certainly a thorn in everyone’s side, she has an equally powerful bite to back up her immense bark.

She has a modicum of respect for Magmatron, who unleashes his wrath upon her if she disobeys his command, but she still isn't afraid to make jabs about his losses to the Maximals on occasion. She also obeys Guiledart, who she has an affinity for. Besides that, the other Predacons have it pretty rough. Poor Sling especially is the brunt of DNAVI's malicious pranks, with the artificial intelligence taking glee in leaving him on alien planets, only teleporting him back once he bends to her will.

When the Predacons called for teleportation off Gaia, DNAVI attempted to leave Sling behind "accidentally", beaming him up only when he raised a fuss. She then saw to the dressing-down of Magmatron's troops, castigating their failure to capture even a single Maximal. Big Convoy, Move Out

When Magmatron requested the transportation of the Predacons off of the planet of Godbless, DNAVI obliged, but once more "forgot" Sling, until he complained loudly enough to bother her. Chase the Mysterious Capsule

After Saberback and Sling noticed the icy planet Solid melting around them, they demanded that DNAVI take them back to their ship. She agreed, but only on the basis that the pair called her "Anastasia". Sling was furious, exclaiming that she had never been called by that name before, but Saberback forced him, and the two were teleported. Burning Heart Below Freezing

When the Predacons spotted the planet Maderan, DNAVI was able to tell them that there was an Angolmois Capsule on the planet, but not the exact coordinates of it, due to heavy cloud cover. Later on, when Magmatron requested they all be teleported off planet due to the arrival of Big Convoy, DNAVI criticized him on his over-confidence during their mission, but transported them regardless. When the Predacons approached the planet of Donovan, DNAVI told them that the Maximals were in the vicinity. Guiledart then delegated responsibility of finding the Angolmois capsule located there to Sling, DNAVI scoffed, saying that a monkey was just as skilled as Sling. Later, when things got messy and the brunt of Predacon forces had to land on Donovan to recover the Angolmois, they requested that DNAVI teleport them back to the Dinosaur with the capsule. She responded by telling them that she could only teleport them or the Angolmois, not both, and that they'd have to fly back themselves. Mirage of the Sand

When Saberback and Sling took the child of a native critter family hostage on the planet Tube in order to force Randy to get the Angolmois capsule for them, D-Navi transported the child to the Dinosaur where she took care of it along with Guiledart. The baby would not stop crying, and DNAVI chastised Guiledart for attempting to feed the infant scalding hot formula. DNAVI teleported the child back to the planet when the child peed on DNAVI.Attack! Randy

When Guiledart brings back an Angolmois capsule, DNAVI informs him the capsule is empty. After Guiledart goes back to the planet, DNAVI responds to his request for reinforcements by sending Saberback to assist. Bump the Physicist

When the Dinosaur comes into orbit around the planet Intel DNAVI informs Magmatron that Hardhead is already on the planet, but is an unreliable insubordinate element. DNAVI demands to be called Brilliant Queen, but Sling calls her Bully-Bully Queen instead. DNAVI teleports him into an underground magma chamber. Hardhead spent some time knocking around the rude Sling, whom DNAVI refused to teleport off the planet when he keeps calling her Bully-Bully Queen. Hardhead Is Hardheaded

Legends comic

DNAVI of the Legends World was the school nurse at Magmatron's high school. She diagnosed Big with Transformers sickness and prescribed him medicine, but to her shock he refused to be cured and threw it out a window. When I Awoke One Morning...

Notes

• A running gag throughout the series is DNAVI changing her name from episode to episode. Some include Anastasia, Catherine, and Audrey.
• Her design may be based on damselflies like Slims and other members of Odonata.
