Real-world references
- The upside down mop thing Inferno wields in this issue is a kind of traditional Japanese firefighting tool called a matoi (纏), probably best known to western audiences as the signature weapon(?) of the fireman protagonist of hit Studio Trigger film Promare and those of Special Fire Force Company 7 from the manga Fire Force. Actually a funky kind of flag, the standard is designed to be twirled from the top of a nearby building. The resultant hard-to-miss flailing jellyfish acts as a sort of emergency beacon, warning away civilians while directing other firefighters to the site of the fire.
