Tomytec (トミーテック Tomītekku) is a subsidiary of TakaraTomy specializing in scale models and photography accessories. When TakaraTomy set about launching the MPG line with a set of fully licensed incarnations of the Trainbots in collaboration with the Japanese Railway Group governing much of Japan's rail industry, what began as a consultation eventually spiralled into a full-on official colaboration between Tomytec's train department TOMIX and TakaraTomy's Transformers team.[1]
