The Gau (ガウ) are an exceptionally minor part of the Decepticon forces. With no offensive capabilities to speak of, they're effectively harmless to all but the most stupid and careless of Autobots.

The tiny Gau are found only within the mazelike Underground Machine City, with three of them flitting up and down inside an alcove that actually requires a bit of backtracking to reach. Once destroyed, they clear the way for a special prize.... Transformers: Mystery of Convoy
