Transformers Roleplaying Game
"Winner's Cup"
Publisher Renegade Game Studios
Written by Eddy Webb

"Winner's Cup" is an adventure scenario for the Transformers Roleplaying Game, released as part of Renegade Game Studios exclusive "Play Renegade" line. A group of 4-6 1st level Autobot player characters investigate a strange Energon reading at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana, where they find Decepticons up to no good.

Contents

Part 1: A Close Encounter!

At Autobot HQ, a group of rookie Autobots are summoned by Bumblebee to take on a mission. He explains that Teletraan-1 has discovered a strange source of Energon and it sounds like a simple mission for the Bee Team to investigate. Wheeljack sends the Team through the Autobot Road and they emerge in a parking garage right in front of Danica Furman, a race car driver. Danica's looking for help because a strange meteorite crashed in the middle of the Indy Speedway, but hasn't had any luck with the local authorities. The players can choose to take Danica with them, or leave her behind (either way she ends up at the Speedway when the players do).

Part 2: The Pit Crew Arrives!

When the players arrive at the Speedway, they discover a large glowing meteorite in the center of the track and three Decepticons holding several humans hostage. The Decepticons (Blockade, Roughspot, and Blitzkrieg) are having a loud argument about what they should be doing, allowing the players to attempt a stealthy approach if desired. If they go unspotted, the Team can discover bombs hidden around the Speedway and attempt to disarm them.

When the Decepticons become aware of the Bee Team, either Danica or Roughspot will propose a race with the humans and the meteorite as stakes.

Part 3: Start Your Engines

If the players accept the race proposal, two Autobots vs two Decepticons will race for three laps around the track. There are special rules for the race and the Decepticons will attempt to cheat at specific points. If the players win, the Decepticons will attack out of frustration. If the Decepticons win and the players let them go, the Decepticons will reveal that they've placed bombs around the Speedway and trigger them to go off in five minutes, before fleeing. The players can attempt to disarm the bombs or escape.

Part 4: Terror at the Racetrack!

If the Bee Team refuses the race proposal, the Decepticons lost, or the Bee Team are sore losers, then a fight breaks out. Scrap, the last member of the Pit Crew, shows up at a distance to help her team as a sniper. The players can spend their time helping the humans escape instead of fighting directly. Once the Pit Crew have been hurt enough, they retreat, setting the bombs to go off in five minutes. The players can attempt to disarm the bombs or escape.

Part 5: Revenge of the Pit Crew!

The Bee Team can follow the Pit Crew to a park, where they have the final fight. Scrap has a mysterious artifact called the Planet Cup, which can interfere with the Autobot Road (which is why there's no available backup for the Bee Team). She spends the fight trying using the Planet Cup to open a portal to escape.

If the players get the Planet Cup, they can take it back to base and give it to Wheeljack for examination. It turns out to be what brought the meteorite of pure Energon crashing into the Speedway.
