Darkwing and his partner cornered Orion Pax in the archives illegally accessing information about the Matrix of Leadership, only for the miner to run away. Mocking the cogless Orion for his inability to transform, Darkwing was confident enough to give Orion a head start before transforming and giving chase... confidence that was very well placed, as he and his partner promptly caught up to the escaping miner the very second Orion believed he had left them behind. However, a timely distraction from D-16 allowed Orion to disappear, causing Darkwing to bellow in rage and fly off in the direction D-16 pointed him at.

Fiction

Voice actor: Isaac C. Singleton, Jr. (English), Tetsu Inada (Japanese)

Following a sudden cave-in during a mining operation, Darkwing reported to Elita-1 that she had been fired and demoted to waste management for the accident. Orion Pax told off the brute, pointing out that Elita shouldn't be punished for what was ultimately Orion's fault, but Darkwing was having none of it and threw a punch at Orion. D-16 caught Darkwing's punch and attempted to smooth things over, only to earn a punch of his own from the larger bot.

Darkwing later participated in the Iacon 5000 race. He found himself used as a jumping pad for the same two cogless miners from before, which angered him to no end. Unfortunately for Darkwing, he was so preoccupied on overtaking the miners again that he flew straight into a magnetic ring obstacle area and got stuck. Though Sentinel Prime himself commended Orion and D-16 and promised them lush rewards for their efforts in the race, Darkwing had other ideas. Appearing before the duo seconds after Sentinel left, he threw Orion and D-16 into sub-level 50 of waste management despite their loud protests and flew off with a snide comment.

Later, under orders from Sentinel, Darkwing attempted to force the miners to work triple-time, only to get cold-clocked and knocked out by the arriving Orion Pax. One
