- The ghost of the present is an apparition from the Marvel UK portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The ghost of the present is a philosophical spectral entity who visits Decepticons at Christmas.
He whom the flames of bitterness surround at last turns his poisoned sting against himself, like the scorpion. The ghost of the present to Dreadwind, "Dreadwind's Xmas!
Fiction
[edit]Marvel The Transformers comics
[edit]The ghost appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.
Following the ghost of the past, Dreadwind was visited by the ghost of the present in his room at the Marvel UK offices. The ghost resembled the current letters page answerer Blaster and told Dreadwind that his bitterness was destroying him. Dreadwind's Xmas!
Notes
[edit]- The ghost of the present is an obvious reference to the Ghost of Christmas Present from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
- His speech to Dreadwind quoted above is almost directly lifted from Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche.
- The ghost speaks in "the deep tones of an Action Master". Another side effect of Nucleon?
