Redwing is a low-ranking member of the High Guard. Although little more than one of Starscream's interchangeable flunkies, he's incredibly sure in his abilities, to the point where his ego sometimes clouds his better judgement. [1]

Redwing was a member of the Cybertronian High Guard. Upon bearing witness to Sentinel Prime's betrayal of the Primes, Redwing and the rest of the High Guard resolved to hide away from the rest of Cybertronian society and delegate resources towards sabotaging Sentinel's rule.
