[edit]
- Airplane (First Transformers, 1986/1987/1993)
- Takara name: Jet-kun
- Takara ID number: C-001
- One of three Playskool First Transformers toys released in 1986, the "Airplane" transforms from an adorable round jet into an adorable stumpy robot in just a few short steps. When rolled along in jet mode, the "pilot" in the cockpit bobs up and down.
- Takara released all three in Japan without changes the following year, giving the Airplane the moniker "Jet-kun".
- Playskool re-released the three in new packaging (a generic box for all three types) in 1993, each with some very minor differences. In the Airplane's case, these were all sticker changes: the pilot's visor was now yellow instead of red (probably to look friendlier), the robot-mode visor-sticker lost all the tech detailing and went with a more plain bordered yellow visor, and the arrow stickers on the shoulders were simplified into a single shape rather than the original's short-tailed arrow with a small bar at the back end.
Notes
[edit]- Like most other cameo Kreons, Kre-O Jet-kun utilizes existing Kreon parts. Specifically, he reuses Air Raid's helmet/nosecone piece.
