Drone jets were unmanned aerial combat vehicles created through the collaboration of Ali and Megatron as part of a ploy to control the skies above the Middle East. Evidently, they aren't very effective.

As part of a deal with the Decepticons, Ali and his henchmen embarked on an ambitious campaign to disassemble aircraft and smuggle them piece-by-piece to Megatron's base of operations. Under the supervision of Blast Off, these components became the Drone Jets.
