Shockwave kept the information in his laboratory stored on data discs. Smokescreen managed to steal a number of them, though most of those he stole were damaged in a battle with the Decepticon. The Generations: Fall of Cybertron data-disc-based toys are all designed to interact with the Voyager Class Soundwave, Blaster, and Soundblaster toys, which have a storage compartment in the chest in which the Mini-cons can be stored in data disc form. This is similar to the old days, when these characters were cassettes, but in any case, technology marches on, and so must the tapes. A launching mechanism causes the data discs to pop out and spring open into robot mode.
