Beast Wars

  • Starscream & BB (Ultra, March 1998)
    • ID number: D-13
    • Accessories: 2 missile launchers, 2 "Screamwinder" missiles
Part of the first wave of Beast Wars II products in the Japanese Beast Wars toyline, Starscream is a redeco of Generation 2 Smokescreen; with a minor retool to add an indent for a rubsign under the toy's right wing, and a color scheme based on the unreleased Megatron ATB & Starscream iteration of the mold.
Starscream transforms into a fighter jet of undetermined model and he has two side-mounted spring-loaded rocket launchers that fire his "Screamwinder" missiles. Starscream is also able to wield said launchers as hand-held weapons in robot mode. Despite the difference in name between Starscream and BB's missiles, they are all the exact same and can be fired or dropped from any of the designated launchers.
This mold was also used to make 2001's Robots in Disguise Smokejumper and Robotmasters Smokesniper. Beast-War Starscream was later reissued in the Korean Car Bot toyline, reassigned as an Autobot and renamed Stealth Saber.
