Gunter is a human from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Brother Gunter tends to a secluded monastery in Europe, where he spends his time baking and taking care of Dinobots in need of moral guidance.

Brother Gunter discovered Grimlock when the Dinobot punched his monastery in frustration at not being trusted with fragile assignments by his teammates. Inviting Grimlock inside for pretzels, he explained the virtues of patience using the baking of pretzels as allegory. The lesson was interrupted by Thermidor and Tricerashot seeking artifacts in the catacombs, and though Gunter warned Grimlock that the catacombs were unstable, the Dinobot rushed in. Gunter knocked some shelves down on the two intruders, and in return Grimlock was able to prevent him being blasted by the pair. After the other Autobots arrived and the scavengers fled, Gunter welcomed them and promised he wouldn't tell anyone about them. After defeating Thermidor and Tricerashot, Grimlock returned with Bumblebee so that Gunter could instruct him in properly patient pretzel preparation as well. Pretzel Logic
