A tengu (天狗) is a Japanese spirit that lives in the mountains. They are recognizable by their long noses and the garb of the Yamabushi.

In the timeline of Aurex 615.03 Epsilon, the Beast Wars was waged in Alpha Q's universe 300 years after the Autobot/Decepticon war. The Maximals and Predacons fought multiple sub-wars on this universe's planets until the Alternity had to step in. It may not have had anything to do with the creature known as the tengu, but the Maximals on prehistoric Earth designated one area as Tengu Sector.
