The name or term "Sky Shadow" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Sky Shadow (disambiguation).

It's time to double up!

It has been suggested this article should be merged with Sky Shadow (BW).
If you disagree, please discuss why on its talk page.

All the other "Beast Wars Armada" characters from Fire in the Dark, especially the Universe (2003) Inferno/Red Alert page were merged back into their actual BW pages, or never had separate pages in the first place, and were treated by this wiki as "extensions of the same characters" simply existing in another universal cluster. It seems this is meant to be the BW character in the same manner, otherwise we should start splitting pages for the Aurex versions of Optimus Primal, Rhinox, etc.
Sky Shadow is a Predacon and Decepticon from the Fire in the Dark portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
You can't see me!

This character has no official visual representation in any Transformers product or media... yet, at least.

Sky Shadow is a figure of Decepticon legend, known for his mastery of stealth and concealment. Ruthless and treacherous, he earned a spot among Megatron's most trusted lieutenants. Sky Shadow distinguished himself on a mission to Earth during the Beast Wars, where his strategic and tactical leadership was instrumental in fighting the Maximals. However, he apparently never returned.[1]

Eons later, the Autobot Jetfire would use his name while operating undercover as a Decepticon.[2]

Growing weary of what he felt was a passive role as commander of the Earth-stationed Autobots, Jetfire decided to go undercover. He scoured the Axalon archives for a Decepticon identity to assume, and he deemed the treacherous Sky Shadow suitably ironic.[1] The choice worked well, allowing him to quietly slip into the background of Decepticon life. Few Decepticons suspected "Sky Shadow"'s secret, as they were often too busy scrapping and plotting against each other to care about the silent new face in their midst. Meanwhile, "Sky Shadow" unobtrusively gathered data and formulated his plans to strike his unwitting enemies when victory would be assured.[2]

Ask Vector Prime

[edit]

In Aurex 1104.30-JH Zeta, Sky Shadow was the head of the Predacon Secret Police. When a transwarp pulse alerted the Tripredacus Council that the contemporary Megatron was up to time travel shenanigans, Sky Shadow was sent to the Beast Wars to stop it. He was nominally a Maximal ally but he eventually turned on them, and was destroyed in the process. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/08/13

Notes

[edit]
  • Until the Facebook edition of "Ask Vector Prime" in 2015, Sky Shadow only existed in Hasbro's marketing and referencing the Beast Wars character was likely just a casual nod to the fans with little regard for continuity. Taken seriously, it presents some problems, since the Beast Wars are supposed to be in an entirely different continuity family. There are two basic possibilities: either the Unicron Trilogy contains its own event called the "Beast Wars," or there's been some dimension-hopping.
    • "Ask Vector Prime" came down on the former, saying one version of Sky Shadow was part of the Beast Wars from the Transformers Legends anthology story "Fire in the Dark", which had messily shoved Beast Wars into Armada. In the version of events recounted by Vector, Sky Shadow seems to take the role Ravage played in the Beast Wars cartoon: being the agent the Tripredacus Council sends to Earth to help the Maximals apprehend Megatron, before betraying them.
  • Just to confuse things further, Energon had an Autobot Sky Shadow!
