This article is about the Autobot. For his evil counterpart, see The Recruit (Decepticon).
The Recruit is an Autobot from the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the movie continuity family.

The Recruit is an Autobot rookie who arrived on Earth during the Autobots mission with NEST to destroy the remaining Decepticons on Earth. Unlike his predecessor, he can scan various weapons & power-ups that can help him during his missions. Guided by Autobots like Ratchet, and having total confidence in himself, the recruit will show his enemies that there's more to him than meets the eye.

You shouldn't underestimate me. There's more to me than meets the eye.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Autobots

The Recruit's in-game name is chosen by the players of the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Autobots video game, and can be anything up to seven letters. Though it goes by the name "Autobot Protoform" in the credits, he will be referred to as "recruit" & "rookie".
