2005 IDW continuity

[edit]

Sherma gathered with the rest of the 113th Cybertronian Senate at the Grand Imperium to discuss introducing a Clampdown on the rest of society when the meeting was interrupted by Rodion police captain Orion Pax, who had uncovered Senate-sponsored corruption within his own organisation. Sherma listened along with the others as Pax quoted Megatron's three questions before he was thrown out. Chaos Theory Part 2

Evidently the questions struck a chord as Sherma secretly became a Decepticon sympathiser and palled around with Senator Momus, a card-carrying 'Con. Patternism Unfortunately he wasn't as secret as he thought and was murdered. His corpse, found suspended from the Interstate Bridge, had a Decepticon insignia graffitied on its back. This looked like the Decepticons were the killers but by-the-book Prowl ordered a full autopsy. Bits of cerulean glass found in the Senator's boots led Prowl and his mechaforensics partner Tumbler to Translucentica Heights, and to Momus just in time to see him murdered. Post Hoc This revealed that the murders were done because the Senators were Decepticons. This, however, had been the main Senate's plan all along: they'd killed Sherma and Momus so the police could bring the 'murderers to justice', making Decepticons think the Senate could be worked with. Patternism

Eventually, the bridge from which his body hung was renamed Sherma Bridge, though whether it was in his honor or due to the infamy of his murder is unknown.
