Air Hunter wants a duel.

Synopsis

[edit]

Seeking an one-on-one match, Air Hunter challenges the Autobots. Road Rocket, who likes to keep battles to a minimum, volunteers. Arriving in Acapulco, Mexico, Road Rocket is accompanied by Optimus Prime and the Autobots who suspect it's a trap. Air Hunter keeps to his word, being the only Decepticon present at the duel site, as he didn't want to impose on his comrades. After making sure that neither have any extra energy in stock, the Decepticon notes he doesn't mind the Autobot spectators but warns of stray bullets.

Road Rocket starts off by using ninjutsu he learned on Earth, the "Silhouette Bind", but Air Hunter's ability to let light pass through his body forces the move to fail. Seemingly duplicating himself, Air Hunter jets into the sky and takes aim at Road Rocket, and is about to win the duel before something out in the Pacific Ocean distracts him. Victory Leo, having sensed the same thing, accesses the orbiting Sky Spy, and finds that Beast Megatron has dredged up a massive amount of solitarium from the sea. While they don't openly verbalize it, the Autobots suspect that this entire duel has been an intended diversion from the other Decepticons' activities.

An innocent Air Hunter tries to prove his uninvolvement in Beast Megatron's operation, but holds back from insulting the current Emperor of Destruction. Holstering his gun, Air Hunter explains that his plan was solely to defeat his opponent and flee. Road Rocket supports his opponent's innocence, noting that they would already be under attack if this was an intended distraction. Optimus Prime chimes in, saying that while the solitarium extraction isn't great, he's even more sorry for the Decepticon in front of him. A meek Air Hunter annuls the duel before taking his embarrassing leave.
