Conway was originally a comic book writer and is probably best remembered for writing Spider-Man's infamous "Death of Gwen Stacy" storyline. His prolific output included hundreds of DC and Marvel books, and he helped create several enduring characters, including Firestorm, Jason Todd, Killer Croc, Man-Thing, Ms. Marvel, Power Girl, Punisher, Vixen, and countless others.

After serving as Marvel's editor-in-chief (succeeding Marv Wolfman), he turned to writing for television. Starting with scripts for Centurions, G.I.
