You should edit the pictures to remove white space if there's too much of it (as is the case with Shouki), and if the art is missing parts of the art due to some unfortunate circumstance, then you should carefully edit the art so the missing parts aren't too obvious. You might also want to resave images and resize them, or lower the jpeg quality so the filesize stays around the 100kb mark or lower if the picture is average sized, unless this seriously affects the quality of the image (such as the need for text in the image to be clearly legible).
