Transformers: Defiance is a 4-part comic series published by IDW Publishing which is scheduled to run from January–April 2009. Along with another four-issue story arc called Alliance, it will serve as both a sequel to The Reign Of Starscream and (as it is set far in Cybertron's past) provides backstory for Revenge of the Fallen, and as such is in direct continuity with the film. The two arcs together are known as Transformers: Destiny.
