* It seems highly likely that Hightower's name came about due to Hasbro's inability to secure the Trademark for "Hook", as other members of the team use the names of the Generation 1 Constructicons who share their alternate mode.

Trivia
* Every bit of purple on Hightower is paint. His wheels and crane-boom are the only parts not cast in bright green plastic.
*Hightower is clearly an homage to the Generation 1 Constructicon Hook. The fact that several of his equally-homage-y teammates did keep their G1 names suggests that the use of "Hightower" was likely due to trademark issues at the time.

Revision as of 01:37, 9 July 2009

The name or term "Hightower" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Hightower (disambiguation).
Hightower is a Decepticon whose continuity of origin is unknown, but who was caught up in the Universe war.
Don't mind the screaming. He's like that all the time.

Hightower is one of the six Micromaster Constructicons who combine into Constructicon Devastator, Hightower forming his left arm. Hightower's personality, like that of his comrades, is unknown. It is also unknown what, if any, connection he has with the other cranes named "Hightower" (or green-and-purple cranes in general) throughout the multiverse - not to mention the one also in the Universe war.

Toys

Universe (2003)

We assume the name is a joke.
  • Buckethead (Micromaster, 2004)
    • Accessories: Left & right Devastator fists
A redeco of Iron Lift, Hightower transforms into a crane truck. He can form the right arm to any similar-construction Micromaster combiner robot, but his nominal position is as the arm of Constructicon Devastator. (He can be used as a left arm too, but since only the right fist to the Sixbuilder mold-set will work with him, he'd be backwards.)
A KB Toys exclusive, he and the other Micromaster Constructicons were also ultimately available from Sears during Christmastime, and Kmart's online store.
This mold was also used to make Micromaster Collection Gren.

Energon

  • Buckethead (Micromaster, 2004)
    • Accessories: Left & right Devastator fists
The Micromaster Constructicons were sold in Europe under the Energon banner, presumably since Europe never actually got Universe. The toys are identical to the Universe versions.

Notes

  • It seems highly likely that Hightower's name came about due to Hasbro's inability to secure the Trademark for "Hook", as other members of the team use the names of the Generation 1 Constructicons who share their alternate mode.
  • Every bit of purple on Hightower is paint. His wheels and crane-boom are the only parts not cast in bright green plastic.
