Fiction
Shattered Glass
Downshift, along with the rest of Remote Patrol Six, was dispatched to scan the Plait Expanse's radiation in an attempt to escape Cybertron. They were also harbouring Hound from Optimus Prime, as Hound had faked his death when Rodimus and Goldbug threw everyone who was deemed too loyal to Prime off the Ark. He was sad at not being able to leave the planet, and commented that if they had the Stellar Spanner that the Decepticons were trying to build, it would be easy to travel back and forth from Earth.
When Sandstorm discovered a signal coming from Zone Y-AT, Hound thought he recognized it, and suggested that someone should check it out. Camshaft was eager to go, but Hound suggested that Downshift go instead. Downshift was initially reluctant, but finding himself staring down the business end of Kup's blaster convinced him to change his mind and go.
When Camshaft protested about Downshift "getting the glory" when he was "weak" and "not even one of-", Hound said that was the point, that 'bots like the rest of them needed to stick together. Especially since Hound thought he knew what was coming. Do Over
As Downshift arrived in the area where the signal had been located, he discovered that the source of the disturbance was one of Alpha Trion's laboratories... and that his communicator was being jammed. Trion got the drop on Downshift and immediately sliced him in half without a word. This act of senseless violence stunned Landquake, who immediately demanded to know just what the hell was going on. Reunification: Part 1
Notes
- Downshift uses his Generation 1 doppelganger's body, but with the coloration of another member of a mail-away trio, Spyglass.
