Remote Patrol Six was scanning the Plait Expanse in order to find a way to escape Cybertron. They were also harbouring Hound from Optimus Prime, as Hound had faked his death so he wouldn't have to go to Earth.
While they didn't find a way to escape, Sandstorm did discover a signal coming from Zone Y-AT. Hound recognized the signal and suggested that they send someone to check it out.
