Massive Dynamics is a fictional company in the Revenge of the Fallen portion of the live-action film series.

Massive Dynamics is a fictional American defense contractor concocted for the government to cover up the battle of Mission City. Allegedly Massive Dynamics was developing autonomous rescue and evacuation robots which wandered off their test site when the Global Communication Blackout knocked the Global Positioning System offline and demolished several buildings before being destroyed or shut down.

The government's dissemblers had come up with a company name that suggested it might manufacture anything from supertankers to swizzle sticks.Revenge of the Fallen novelization, p27

Trivia

  • "Massive Dynamics" is an allusion to the fictional company "Massive Dynamic" from the television series Fringe... which two gents associated with the movie just happen to be executive producers of.
  • Massive Dynamics was originally intended to be named, and even play a role, in the film itself. An extensive casting call list leaked to the internet in April 2008 listed a "Massive Dynamics CEO" as one of the new characters.[1] Ever since July 2008, the official website of actor Steve Tom is listing him as appearing in Revenge of the Fallen[2], even though he isn't actually listed in the film's credits. Back in July 2008, Theiapolis Cinema listed Tom as playing the role of Massive Dynamics' CEO[3], whereas IMDB listed him as the CEO of McClaren Robotics at the same time[4], another working name for the same company (which is also used in the junior novelization of the movie, and IDW Publishing's Alliance comic).
