Ferdy and Gabe are a pair of workers at G.B. Blackrock's aerospace plant, which was invaded by the Decepticons when one of them unwittingly took Soundwave (which he mistook for a misplaced cassette player) into the building (in the story Warrior School).
In the issues that followed, Ferdy and Gabe were seen from time to time, never one without the other, as slaves of the Decepticons. They were finally freed when the Autobots retook the plant (and their leader, Optimus Prime) in Prime Time.
