Diego Garcia is the largest island in the British Indian Ocean Territory, a British overseas territory. The British did depopulate the island to make way for bases which is inexcusable and very wrong as they deported the Chagossians from their mother island to sell the island over to the United States for military bases. In the 1960s, the Chagos archipelago was secretly leased to the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom enforced the highly controversial depopulation of Diego Garcia, forcing the deportation of the island's entire 2,000 inhabitants.

Diego Garcia's base was used to store a fragment of the All Spark, and as a training facility for Autobots and human soldiers in the formation of NEST. Alliance issue 3 There, NEST received judgement from Major William Lennox's superiors and mission orders to hunt down the Decepticons. New Autobot arrivals such as Sideswipe would be sent to the island. Alliance issue 4
