Arcee's ship was entering a planet's atmosphere, probably Earth's, when Thundercracker appeared and blasted the ship out of the sky. Arcee was trapped in the ruins of the ship while her shipmates went outside to battle Thundercracker. When she managed to get herself free, she thought her audio receptors were damaged, but the silence was because there was nobody fighting. Then Thundercracker approached her and said he was so glad to see her before she blacked out.

Arcee is trapped in the ship's remains as her shipmates leave the wreckage to battle Thundercracker. As she finally frees herself, she finds it has gone strangely quiet, as Thundercracker has emerged from the battle victorious. As he approaches her and says he's glad to see her, she blacks out.

When she woke up, Arcee was horrified to see her dead body lying on a table in front of her. It turns out that she was in the lab of the Decepticon 'field medic', Flatline and her spark has been transfered to a pink armored protoform body. Flatline noticed she was awake and quickly called Thundercracker to report that her spark did not seem to strong enough to power 'the rest'. Thundercracker believed otherwise and told him to not make any mistake this time as he had nearly depleted his post's supply of protoforms. To make sure the job was done right, Thundercracker was coming to see over this himself. Flatline left the room to gather some more connectors and told Arcee to stay put.
She wakes up later with a scream, horrified by seeing her dead and dissected body on a table in front of her. She is in the laboratory of Flatline, a Decepticon field medic, and her spark has been transferred to a protoform body. Flatline notices she is awake and reports to Thundercracker that he thinks her spark is not strong enough to power "the rest". Thundercracker disagrees and tells Flatline to try again, without making any more mistakes, as they're running out of protoforms. As Thundercracker heads down to see their new warriors for himself, Flatline leaves to gather more supplies, telling Arcee to stay put.

Then Arcee noticed Skids and Mudflap in an energy cage. The Twins noted that Arcee didn't look right, in fact, none of them looked right. It was then that Arcee notice the two lifeless protoforms that were hanging next to here. Confused and frightened, Arcee asked where she was and what happened. After a little debating of who was going to answer those questions, the Twins decided to both tell her.
As she looks around, Arcee is surprised to see Skids and Mudflap in an energy cage. The Twins note that Arcee "doesn't look right", "none of them do". This leads Arcee to further notice the two lifeless protoforms next to her, and wonder aloud what is going on. The Twins debate over which one should answer her, but when she cuts them off and demands they just tell her, Flatline returns and answers her for them: Arcee's spark was saved by the medic as part of an experiment to speed up the development of new protoforms and quickly produce more Decepticon soldiers.

It was then that Flatline returned and said that Arcee was transferred to her new body to save her spark. She was a guinea pig for an experimental procedure to produce new Decepticon warriors. Arcee was the latest addition to the Decepticon army, her spark given by her previous form. Flatline claimed that he only did a minor amount of surgery, the initial damage being mostly caused by his commander. That was when Thundercracker came in and proudly claimed credit for the damage. Arcee felt hatred for the Decepticon who slaughtered her team mates, but she could not remember his name.
Flatline also explains that he only did part of the dissection, with most of the initial damage having been caused by Thundercracker. The mech in question comes in just in time to hear this, and claims he was happy to do so. Arcee feels a surge of hatred over Thundercracker killing her teammates, but can't yet remember his name.

Arcee finds herself as the subject of a twisted Decepticon experiment.

Synopsis

The events of this book take place between Reign of Starscream #5 and Alliance #4.

As the ship Arcee is on enters a planet's atmosphere (probably Earth), Thundercracker appears and blasts the ship from the sky.

 • Cameos: Breakaway, Clocker, Optimus Prime, Starscream (all in flashback)
 • This issue finally explains the reasons behind Arcee's new robot mode and how she came to be a Tripartite Cybertronian, previously explained away by...absolutely nothing. It also explains the twins behaviour as the result of Flatline's attempted reprogramming of their brains.
