- The mode lock is a restraining device from the Marvel Comics portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The mode lock is a handy way to restrain a prisoner. When affixed, it prevents the affected Transformer from transforming out of their alt mode or taking any independent action. It also can be tracked to a radius of 50,000 miles.
