- Backbite is a Decepticon from the Dreamwave portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Backbite was a Decepticon assassin who attempted to murder Optimus Prime during the early stages of the Great War. He wielded an energy sword.
Backbite was never referred to by name in the fiction; his name was given in later interviews with author Simon Furman.[1]
