Summary

This episode opens with Blackarachnia and Cheetor being tutored by Optimus Primal on they must find their still point during battle so they can transform, all this is unfolding while being watched by an unknown set of bat eyes, nearby Rattrap is still trying to transform, unsuccessfully, Optimus Primal gives Rattrap some advice which charicistically he rejects by saying primal should save his advice for the still missing Rhinox and Silverbolt. Prime notices the as yet unknown Nightscream watching the proceedings from above and scares him off all three Maximals persue the intruder only to discover he is another a Maximal. It is at this point Jetstorm and his aero drones appear and attack the Maximals attempts to kidnap Nightscream. The Maximals run away followed by Jetstorm who fires a homing mine after the Maximals this is expertly deflected with a sonic blast from the bat.

Nightscream, being the kind soul he is, leads the Maximals back to his hideout and on the way recounts the story about the virus spreading over the planet of Cybertron infecting everyone, how megatron’s drones hunted down the last survivors and how he fled underground went offline and become a bat. When the Maximals reach their destination prime discovers an organic tree on Cybertron which everyone except Cheetor eats the fruit from. This turn their animal instincts dial up to eleven. Jetstorm reappears and attacks and Cheetor and Nightscream attempt to take the food away from increasingly ferial Maximals who ignore the battle. Cheetor notices the trunk of the technorganic tree and cuts it down. This turns the affected Maximals back to their old selves. Nightscream is badly hurt by a blast from Jetstorm and the only way to save his life is for Primal to reformat him. Optimus drained from the reformatting tells Cheetor to lead the Maximals as he was right to destroy the tree since its purely organic nature was devolving their technorganic bodies. Cheetor asks nightscream if he wants the join the team which he does. The episode ends with a fruit from the technoorganic tree putting down roots.
