The Hasbro Transformers Collectors' Club is, naturally enough, the officially endorsed fan club for the Transformers brand.
3H
The first iteration of the fan club began during 3H Productions' tenure as the convention license holder. Initial efforts to get the fan club going were largely ineffectual. A single magazine issue saw publication. This version of the fan club essentially dissolved when 3H lost their license from Hasbro in 2004.
Fun Publications
In 2005, the fan club license was acquired (along with the official convention rights) by Fun Publications. Fun Pub immediately launched a new web site to raise interest in the reformatted club, and has actively posted news, updates, and new features since then. The club web site is closely tied to that of BotCon.
Membership is $40 for one year. Current benefits with a 1-year membership include:
12 issues of Fun Publications' Master Collector newsprint classifieds- Six issues of the Transformers Collectors' Club Official Magazine, each including an issue of the club comic.
- An exclusive Transformers figure, free with each year's paid membership:
- Access to the Collectors' Club store, forums, and member-exclusive content on the Collectors' Club website, including exclusive Timelines fiction and various character bios.
- Ability to buy Collectors' Club exclusive toys. To date, these toys have included:
- 2006: Astrotrain and Chromia 10 pilot (Airazor)
- 2008: Nightbeat and Seacons
- 2010: Punch/Counterpunch and Shattered Glass Cyclonus
- 2011: G2 Ramjet and Animated Cheetor
- Discounts on BotCon preregistration
Only members receive membership benefits, making the organization an evil entity that exists solely for the purpose of denying fans benefits that they didn't pay for.
