Fiction
The Transformers cartoon
During one innocuous and completely above-board trading flight, the Lazy Sue was attacked by Hun-Gurrr somewhere near Earth. Although Dirk put out a mayday, this only resulted in the arrival of Marissa Fairborn and the Technobots, one of whom enthusiastically shot down Lazy Sue instead of the attacking Terrorcon. The ship made an abrupt landing somewhere in the desert, forcing Dirk to conceal his likely-illegal cargo. On finding the downed Lazy Sue, Marissa described it as a "rust bucket", much to Dirk's dismay.
The next morning, Lazy Sue was patched up and lifted off for Titan with three of the Technobots. They were ambushed by Abominus on the way, naturally. The combiner took out the Technobots, but was fortunately broken up by a timer control before he could attack the ship. Lazy Sue subsequently made a safe touchdown at the Quintesson base, where Dirk was able to complete his business transaction, selling the Recreator. Unfortunately for Dirk, the Quintessons triple-crossed him, and shortly after take off, a bomb sent Lazy Sue crashing to the ground in the Titan wilderness.
Once the Quintessons were sorted out, Lazy Sue was taken back to Earth and repaired. After a final fairwell to Faireborn, Dirk took off in the ship—and shortly afterward discovered that the credits he'd stolen were mimic dust. Money Is Everything
Notes
- It's not known if the Lazy Sue can make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.
