- Ikard is a Maximal from the Beast Wars II era of Generation 1 continuity family.
Born Ikard October Barks (イカード・オクトーバ・バークス Ikādo Okutōba Bārkusu), he is the cousin and childhood friend of the Maximal called Scuba. Ikard is possibly the only other Transformer that Scuba trusts with his personal secrets. They are like brothers. He plays an important role in the Cybertronian war; delivering essential cargo to Maximals stationed far off in the galaxy. It was Ikard who delivered the near unstoppable weapon, the Tako Tank, to his cousin. Ikard is also considered quite intelligent and is a well-known historian.
So yeah, he's basically a FedEx guy, all things considered.

With the increasing unrest on Cybertron, the Maximal Imperium sent Ikard to request Big Convoy's presence, demanding answers. However, the Maximal field commander was too busy, and as for answers, he showed the messenger the aftermath of an Angolmois-fueled riot where an unfortunate was torn limb-from-limb by the mob. Ikard managed to keep his lunch down and left to report this to the Imperium.

- Ikard is a redeco of Claw Jaw/Scuba, transforming into a giant squid. A piece of his beast mode back detaches to become a tentacle-held claw/boomerang. The plunger mechanism this weapon attaches to activates Ikard's beak, opening and closing his horrible mandibles.
- Ikard was only available with the large Tako Tank vehicle. As Ikard and the Tako Tank were designed completely independently of each other (the tank having been originally a canceled Microman vehicle), Ikard doesn't work very well with it.
