Up, up, and away!
Decepticon Planes are a subgroup from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Decepticon Planes are a subgroup of Decepticons. This designation was used primarily in reference to the toyline, and was not reflected as an official subgroup within the comics or animation. It was most likely used in the catalogues in contrast to the much larger Autobot Cars toy group.

The first two years of "Planes" were finally given the in-fiction moniker of Seeker, due to the fact that they were all redecos or retools of the same basic body type, the Diaclone F-15 toy.

The only two Planes not considered Seekers because of their radically different body types were Scourge and Cyclonus, both of whom were absorbed into the following year's Targetmaster line.
