I don't see how his role could have been meant for Megatron. Astrotrain was integral in many ways due to his being a space shuttle. Megatron couldn't have fired on Cosmos in space, transported Thrust and Starscream, and certainly wouldn't have argued about calling Megatron for help. It doesn't make sense for so many reasons. More likely that Astrotrain's character simply wasn't fleshed out completely at this point. | |||

New synopsis
I rewrote the synopsis because I found it hard to repair the one that was there already.
I hope it didn't get too long, though.

Astrotrain's role meant for Megatron?
I don't see how his role could have been meant for Megatron. Astrotrain was integral in many ways due to his being a space shuttle. Megatron couldn't have fired on Cosmos in space, transported Thrust and Starscream, and certainly wouldn't have argued about calling Megatron for help. It doesn't make sense for so many reasons. More likely that Astrotrain's character simply wasn't fleshed out completely at this point.
