Cybo-dendrons are components of Transformer bodies that regulate the higher brain functions. If they are somehow destroyed, the affected Transformer will pretty much start acting like an animal, living only by what basic instinct can handle. Reparations aren't difficult, but the patient might remain unconscious from the cybo-shock after effects for some time.

Ratchet examined Swoop after the latter had inexplicably turned violent, and found out that the Dinobot's change in demeanor was due to his primary cybo-dendrons having burnt out. He speculated that this happened because his neural insulation had corroded during the four million year sleep in a tar-pit. Optimus Prime realized the same had to be the case with the other Dinobots, The Icarus Theory and organized a hunt on the errant Autobots. Dinobot Hunt! Once they all had been captured, Ratchet replaced or repaired their cybo-dendrons. The Dinobots didn't wake up though, even when they logically should. With nothing more that he could do, Ratchet argued they should wait and let the Dinobots recover on their own. Victory!
