Maderan (マデラン), or Madelan, is a volcanically active planet completely covered by thin "smokestack"-like volcanoes whose ashy output fills the entire atmosphere with roiling red clouds.
Something in the atmospheric ash has a diffusing effect on Maximal and Predacon long-range scanning and communications systems, rendering them extremely unreliable. Predacon teleportation technology does not seem to suffer the same problem.

The Dinosaur arrived at Maderan, and, though DNAVI detected an Angolmois Capsule on the planet, Sling, Guiledart and Saberback (mostly Sling) displayed a marked lack of enthusiasm for searching the entire planet on foot, and instead proposed laying a trap for the Maximals, dividing their forces with two false Angolmois signals and counting on the planet's atmosphere to prevent them from signaling Big Convoy.
It was a good plan, a solid plan. Unfortunately it reckoned without Stampy's superhuman cowardice, which caused him to hang back and avoid their snare. Rather than confront the Predacons himself, Stampy disabled the electromagnetic wave generators that trapped his friends, then retreated again so he could launch a Spyshot drone above the atmosphere with an emergency beacon calling Big Convoy to help!
