The Transformers cartoon
A Quintesson Journal crashed on the planet in the Angarrix sector, and began transmitting a signal. The signal attracted the attention of both Autobots and Decepticons. Perceptor sent Sky Lynx to investigate, though he had to help out with the astro-navigation as Sky Lynx didn't know where the coordinates were. This inevitable led to conflict between the two factions as they tried to take possession of the Journal. The Predacons lost, and the Autobots made off with the cylinder. The Quintesson Journal
