This article is about the plumber from Animated. For the warrior from Generation 1, see Pipes (G1).
Pipes is an Autobot from the Transformers Animated continuity family.
Hey paesanos!

Unlike his older brother, Huffer, who gets all the fame, Pipes is seldom seen. He is, however, not any less hard working. In fact, he's a bit of a workaholic. Huffer wishes his little brother would take a day off some time, and maybe get a hobby. His home is empty and devoid of personal touches... not that Pipes ever goes there.

Both Pipes and his brother have special arms. In Pipes's case, he can shoot corrosive gases from them. This helps him deteriorate the buildup of grime that has gummed up Cybertron's ancient sewer system.

Fiction

Animated

While Cheetor was vigorously chasing Ransack and Crumplezone for a "moving violation", Pipes, who was painting a billboard promoting The Motor Master's Stunt Convoy, fell off his ladder and landed on Cheetor. His paint can also fell, staining Cheetor's chassis with black spots. Pipes was holding on to Cheetor till he finally transformed and skidded to a stop, throwing off Pipes. Moving Violations

Later on, the two brothers attended the Stunt Convoy's opening night, but were having problems seeing past Grandus's immense bulk. The Stunti-Con Job

Notes

  • Pipes was first revealed on April 1st 2009 on Derrick Wyatt's blog, as part of a group shot of characters who may or may not have gone on to appear in the cartoon. While his older brother Huffer did, Pipes did not. Later, Pipes would appear in The AllSpark Almanac II, where he would be given a bio.
  • Pipes is based on Luigi, while his brother Huffer is based on Mario. To that end, Pipes a-talks a-like-a this.
  • Generation 1 Pipes collects otherworldly things obsessively, to the point that his quarters are practically a museum. Animated Pipes, on the other hand, is too busy fixing pipes to have ever left Cybertron, so his quarters are empty.
