Frances Louise McDormand (born June 23, 1957) is an American actress.
She is best known for her Oscar-winning role as Marge Gunderson in Fargo (alongside Peter Stormare), she has also appeared in such films as Almost Famous, North Country, Blood Simple andDarkman.
She is married to screen writer and director Joel Cohen.
