The name Megatron can refer to several different characters or concepts:

• 1984 — Megatron, leader and sometimes founder of the Decepticons from Generation 1. For toys of this character, see Megatron (G1) toys.

• 1996 — Megatron, a Predacon criminal and architect of the theft of the Golden Disk turned ruler of Cybertron from Beast Wars. Later became the leader of the Vehicons and was split into Savage/Noble and the Grand Mal in Beast Machines. For toys of this character, see Megatron (BW) toys. Yeesss.

• 1999 — Megatron, a mythological figure in the Covenant of Primus.

• 2000 — Megatron, a Predacon six-changing galactic conqueror from Robots in Disguise.

• 2010 — Master Megatron, the other Decepticon-allied Megatron from Transformers Animated.

• Megatron X, a mysterious silver-colored version of Beast Wars Megatron.

• Megaplex, a duplicate of Megatron designed to fool his enemies from the Generation 1 continuity.

• Mechatron, a Beast Rider from Beast Machines.

• Megabolt, Decepticon emissary, whose alternate form mimics the Big Floating Head headquarters of Beast Wars Megatron in the Beast Machines cartoon, from Robots in Disguise/Universe.

• Megastorm, younger brother of Galvatron from Beast Wars II.

• Megastar, Robots in Disguise Megatron's starship/base.

• Megazarak, an alternate-reality Decepticon leader from Universe.

• Mega-Dinobot, the combined form of Grimlock and Swoop from Energon.

• Mega-Octane, leader of the Decepticon Commandos from Robots in Disguise.

• Megatronus Prime, the original name of The Fallen, one of the thirteen original Transformers.

• Mega the female Godmaster from Masterforce, who with her husband Giga forms Overlord

• Scorponok, whose name in Japan is usually Mega Zarak.

• Gigatron, a Decepticon from Transformers Animated who clearly resembles Robots in Disguise Megatron.

Many versions of Megatron eventually upgrade their bodies and change their name to Galvatron.
