World War II was a gigantic military conflict on 20th Century Earth. The Axis, the belligerent faction in the war, included the Empire of Japan and Cobra. It followed a previous world war. Making Waves

In order to win the war, both the United States of America and the Axis worked on creating "super-soldiers": men enhanced by scientific treatments to the peak of human ability.

The United States and its allies won in the end. Victory, though, only led to further conflict.

Fiction

The Transformers cartoon

Various battles were fought against Japan in the Pacific. One such battle was at Guadalcanal in 1943, where US forces battled the Japanese. The debris would still be there in 1985. Starscream's Brigade

In 2006, Jessica Morgan believed that if the Hate Plague were to get out in the open, it would make World War II look a schoolyard brawl. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1

Transformers/G.I. Joe

The Fera Islands based Cobra, in this reality having Decepticon assistance, conquered much of Europe between 1938 and 1939. This brought the United States into the war. Transformers/G.I. Joe

Car Robots cartoon

During World War II, Japan was heavily bombed. Old bombs that never went off can still be found and may detonate, especially if you're Gelshark. Ultra Magnus

Live-action film series

Titan Magazines

Japan had bombed the American base Pearl Harbour [sic], and apparently their aircraft were so dangerous that Cybertronian spacecraft were assumed to be Japanese. Due to the conflict, American merchant ships went around armed to the teeth. During the war and for some months afterwards, the United States used Grumman Avenger bombers, which were capable of seriously whalloping alien warcraft. Making Waves

IDW Comics

During the war, Germany captured the Transformer Jetfire and began reverse-engineering robots from his parts. Sector Seven sent in a commando unit of veteran US soldiers to take out the project, just in time for when the Panzer-Giganten had been completed. Every German involved in the project was killed and the machines destroyed, but only William Simmons returned from the S7 striketeam. Weapon

Notes

  • Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II uses a lot of concepts and terms from World War II for its history of the Great War, particularly the Pacific Theatre (though the Decepticon's strategic bombing campaign is more akin to the European theatre). In addition, the Quintessons are mentioned as possessing a "Co-Prosperity Sphere", the same term Japan used for its conquered territories.
