In May 2005 it was announced that independent comic publisher IDW would be the next company to play with the Transformers license, following the financial collapse of their predecessor, Dreamwave, at the tail-end of 2004. The flagship title is a rebooted G1 continuity written by longtime Transformers scribe Simon Furman, with art by E.J. Su (who's previously worked on G.I. Joe/Transformers Vol. 2 for Devil's Due).
Story Arcs:
- Infiltration - Plays up the fact that Transformers are literally "robots in disguise." Will be a six-issue story arc (7 issues including issue 0).
- Beast Wars: The Gathering - Marking the 10th anniversary of the Beast Wars franchise.
